Making Food Fair - Can we balance food access with sustainability?
Our fringe event at the Soil Association Conference, which we organised alongside Manchester's Kindling Trust on Feb 9th, was a great evening attended by almost 300 people.
Professor Tim Lang, WDM's Deborah Douane, and Growing Communities' Julie Brown made up an excellent panel with insights on the challenges of food sustainability and fairness from international, national and local levels. The room was hot and rather crowded but that didn't put people off from staying to ask some great questions in the Q&A session afterwards, and it seemed like a buzzing and inspired crowd leaving the Town Hall that night.
Thanks to all the speakers, the chair (Kath from Sustain), our sign language interpreter (Maria) and everyone who came along and participated.
