Food Speculation Campaign
Back in October last year we ran an event with the World Development Movement looking at the issue of bankers' speculating on commodity markets affecting food prices for the world's poor. As a result of deregulation during the 1990s and early 2000s , hundreds of millions of pounds have been poured into food commodity markets, pushing up prices and resulting in increased hunger and poverty. The campaign is still running so here's a reminder of the issue and what can be done.
