Once again we’re totally spoiled for choice with the selection of produce this week, and it’s especially gratifying to see so much of it locally grown!
We’ve celery bunches from Strawberry Fields and Lyncroft Farm, and some stunning courgettes from Ward & Thompson and Libby Flintoff. There’s also green curly kale from Farmstart and Lyncroft Farm, being sold loose and bagged, and some particularly luscious spring onions courtesy of Strawberry Fields. We’re also expecting the first UK basil by the end of the week to accompany an already fantastic selection of fresh UK herbs.
On the European side of things, cherries and apricots are tasting juicy and sweet, whilst Spanish watermelons continue to shine in both look and flavour, and are the perfect accompaniment to this wonderful weather. Pair with our locally grown mini cucumbers (Lyncroft Farm) and fresh mint (Strawberry Fields) for a refreshing summer salad. You can also look forward to the first French melons this weekend.
