As was mentioned last week, ongoing supply issues on the continent mean we do expect gaps on certain Euro lines over the coming weeks, in particular peppers and cherry vine tomatoes. However it’s not all bad news: we’ve got Sicilian and Spanish strawberry punnets expected in time for the weekend, Spanish loose strawberries, and an excellent supply of some very tasty blueberry punnets to boot. Elsewhere French cavolo nero has been looking sensational since the weekend, with enormous leaves and a lovely blue-green hue. That said it is the last of it, so do grab some while you can!
On the UK side and sticking with kales we have some lovely green curly kale courtesy of Francis Sampson down in Cornwall, to complement his cauliflowers which have been a real standout on the veg display for the last few weeks. We also expect curly kale from Organic Pantry at the weekend, as well as red and green kale bags from New Fields for a spot of variety.
Last but not least, we couldn’t do this week’s veg news without mentioning Duncan Gielty’s leeks, which are looking so so gorgeous at the minute!!
