Our very first batch of broad bean plants from Glebelands are here and taking pride of place in the entrance to the shop by the seeds, with cavolo, russian kale and spinach expected to join them very soon. We’re aware that the next week is going to be unceremoniously wintry, but they’ll do just fine on the windowsill until conditions improve!
Sampson’s cornish brassicas are a highlight for us again this week, with another three days pallets expected over the next few days comprising caulis, purple sprouting broccoli, spring greens, and kale. French Fennel is looking great and selling fast, and we’ve a limited supply of mangetout that’s equally enticing.
Onto fruit and we can’t stop talking about strawberries! They’re super succulent and sweet, and are filling the shop with the glorious scent of summer. Spanish navel oranges are also a great option for both flavour and value, and our first chirimoyas of the year are expected tomorrow.
Bon appétit!
