This lovely, sunny day has got us in the mood for salad! 
and U.K lettuce is a real highlight today. We have had our second delivery from Pam at Strawberry Field’s of her stunning oakleaf lettuces and are due to get lots more as well as some of her batavia lettuces in time for the weekend.
Glebelands will soon be joining Farmstart’s (I think we can all agree) magnificent salad leaf mix with the first delivery due Thursday. Dan at Glebelands is trying an experimental mix of leaves for us this week – watch this space!
Wight’s have just delivered another pallet of their delicious Isle of Wight tomatoes 
there was lots of excitement amongst the staff as the first pallet was wheeled into the warehouse. A real highlight of the Spring and Summer U.K season, picked perfectly ripe with an incredible depth of flavour.
We are also filling our boots with asparagus this week. The Spanish asparagus is tasting wonderful and is offering really good value at the moment. U.K asparagus is still a couple of weeks away yet. Make the most of it! As it is always gone before we know it. Absolutely delicious roasted whole with the woody ends snapped off drizzled in oil, lemon, salt and pepper.
