Keeping it short and sweet this week; in more ways than one!
Our fresh fruit offer is really in its element at the minute, in particular on the UK side with a whole host of beautiful berry varieties expected in this week. We’ve got our first smattering of UK cherries arriving this Thursday courtesy of Carey’s, alongside which we can expect to see more gooseberries and our first blackberries and redcurrants of the season.
Strawberry season is still going strong: our Welsh supply will be taking us through the first half of the week, with more of those fabulous Herefordshire grown strawbs incoming this Thursday. We’ll also be getting more UK raspberries if you haven’t yet had a chance to try! UK raspberries are a real rarity for us and these do not disappoint, exhibiting a perfectly balanced sweet-tart flavour and an equally addictive scent.
From Europe, we’ve managed to get our hands on some Sicilian watermelons from Agricoop that are well and truly bursting with flavour. These and limited supply of some similarly picturesque honeydew and charentais melons. Yum!
