We are a very, very happy band today, after being named Best Food Retailer at the BBC’s Food & Farming Awards last night. Go co-ops! It was pretty mind-blowing to be nominated, to win was just unbelievable.
As one of our members put it last night “We feel delighted, proud… thank you to all our customers and growers who nominated us. We would be nothing without our farmers”. Not least fellow award winners Hodmedod and their talented UK pulse growers.
What made it so special were the things that you our customers had said about us in your nominations…you made us blush! It was a huge boost…to us, to worker co-ops, to those who always believed in this mad idea of a supermarket-sized grocery with no boss and no animal products. Happy twenty first birthday to us!
