Affordable Wholefoods
Over two hundred different cereals, pulses, grains, flours, nuts, dried fruits and spices are packed in our small production facility attached to the shop – look out for the Unicorn logo. Many are organic and you’ll spot some harder-to-find items like spelt grain, physalis berries, organic Toor Dal, teff flour, flame raisins and wild rice alongside all the basics. From organic quinoa flakes to millet grain, look out for great ingredients to liven up your gluten and wheat-free cooking. Unlike the supermarkets, our more unusual products don’t have to be sold at ‘specialist food’ prices – we don’t whack a price premium on something just because it’s unfamiliar!

We want our products to inspire not confuse, so our recipe pages are full of ideas on how to use the ingredients we sell. Or just ask a member of staff whilst you’re here, we all have different areas of knowledge but have a love of food in common!
We offer dry goods in a range of sizes, including great value ‘bulk buys’ of 3-5kg on popular items like porridge oats, red lentils and rice. Or choose your own amount using the ‘unpacked’ dispensers. Our range is incredibly competitive against supermarket prices, and the ‘unpacked’ products are even cheaper still, typically 10% less than the packed version.
The packing process is kept simple so that we can employ people with a large range of abilities from a wide sector of the community. Packing onsite also means that even when the shop is quiet we can still be busy producing goods to sell – keeping our efficiency up and our staff costs down.
