As the days are getting longer, we are excited to add some more springlike products to our shelves.
This month marks the return of Libby and Paul Flintoff’s products. They are delivering us some spinach beet straight from their polytunnel in Preston to our shelves. These tender leaves differ from the true variety we have been getting from Europe. It can be eaten raw if you pick the smallest leaves or add it to your curry.
From Cornwall it is peak season for both our UK brassicas. Cauliflowers are looking pristine and purple sprouting broccoli is proving to be hugely popular
Duncan Gielty in Ormskirk is greeting us with some dill this week, in addition to his coriander. These highly versatile herbs will add a zing to your plate.
From the other side of the channel, where spring isn’t shying away, we will have asparagus, peas and broad beans to add some freshness to your dinner this week.
We again have to mention the exceptional season of oranges we are having this year. Please have a try at the tarocco one, an italian blood variety, close to being a staff favorite.
