New in our range this week, we have packed mustard leaves from Kindling Market Garden in Stockport. Often a favorite from the salad leaves mix, this peppery leaf is also lovely cooked in Thai style cuisine. Throw in the pan and slightly wilt to give the dish an extra kick!
As the hungry gap is approaching the range of UK grown cabbages is getting slimmer. From Newfields in Yorkshire we have savoy greens. Their leaves are more open than the usual savoy cabbages and are super tender and green. Lovely steamed with a bit of squeezed lemon.
Our aromatics shelf is looking very bountiful at the minute. That is thanks to Duncan Gielty in Ormskirk with his coriander and dill. We also have an array of European herbs, flat and curly parsley, mint, oregano, thyme, rosemary… All for you to cook with during this long Easter weekend.
Last but not least we are amazed that our grower in Suffolk still has plenty of UK pears. If you haven’t tried them yet you are missing out!
