Martin and Rachel Soble have been growing organic fruit at Whitethorn Farm on the banks of the River Wye in Herefordshire since 2005. This week we have some of their wonderful berries on our shelves. These are fantastic in smoothies, puddings or eaten just as they are. A burst of fresh tartness!
Martin is picking his first apples of the season this week, the Discovery. This early variety is generally crisp, slightly acidic and fragrant.
We can’t wait for their arrival on Friday, ready to mark the start of the much cherished UK Apple season.
Elsewhere things are heating up and we will soon start to receive Spanish tropical fruits. First off the mark are passion fruit from our supplier Le Gros Bio. These are intensely flavoured and full of fruit. Delicious!
