Financial transactions made through this website are made via PayPal, a third party payment processor, who specialises in the secure online capture and processing of credit/debit card transactions. This means Unicorn will not receive or store any of your financial information.
How we use this data
The data we gather in this way is used to improve our website for the future, and specifically to:
- Fulfil orders in our online shop
- Contact you in response to a specific enquiry
- Carry out our obligations arising from any contracts entered into by you and us
- Send you communications which you have requested in the form of our e-news. This may include shop news and events and other community activities or campaigns we’re supporting, plus occasional requests for feedback (for example our annual customer survey).
We review our retention periods for personal information on a regular basis. We will hold your personal information on our systems for as long as is necessary for the relevant activity, or as long as is set out in any relevant contract you hold with us.
Data that has been gathered for the purpose of fulfilling an order in our online shop is only held for the period of time needed to complete and reconcile the order, so is deleted within 12 weeks of collection.

Survey Monkey
We use Survey Monkey to carry out our customer surveys. The information you provide us with in surveys will only be used to evaluate your satisfaction with Unicorn and gather your suggestions, with the aim of improving our offer and the experience of shopping here. All our customer surveys are anonymous, and although we do receive personal information such as age, gender and postcodes, these responses are aggregated and not analysed by individual respondant.
Once the survey is closed, only the overall (non-identifying) data is downloaded and retained, individual responses are deleted within a maximum of 12 weeks. Contact details, which are submitted optionally, are used only to inform you if you have won our prize draw. These details are deleted along with all individual responses within 12 weeks of the survey closing. We will never use this information to contact you for marketing or any other purpose, and we will never sell or swap this information with any third party.

MailChimp
Our e-news are sent using MailChimp, an email marketing service. Your email address will be transferred to and stored with MailChimp only to allow us to send you these emails, and to track interactions (e.g. open rates). Waitwhile
We use the Waitwhile queuing app to manage timed entry booking. Your name is recorded simply to allow Unicorn staff to manage entry at the door. The data is stored by Waitwhile, and wont be used for any other purpose. Click here for Waitwhile’s GDPR policy.

When you give us personal information, we take steps to ensure that it’s treated securely. We follow stringent procedures to ensure we work with all personal data in line with the General Data Protection Regulation 2018. Any sensitive information (such as credit or debit card details) is encrypted and protected with TLS encryption. Encryption makes it difficult for unauthorised people to view information travelling between computers.
